Globe-Trotter Orient
All of Globe-Trotter’s collections are hand made in the Hertfordshire factory by skilled craftsmen. The cases have an ash wood frame, are covered in Vulcan fiber and finished with cloth linings and a leather trim. The Orient series takes this hand-craftsmanship even further. The cases are hand-lacquered by a skilled craftsmen, who practice the ancient art of ‘Urushi’. The result is a perfectly smooth, deep burnished looking finish. They obviously are super expensive and the Orient series of cases take about four months to make. This is because each coat of the lacquer must completely dry before applying the next. I will buy them when I have the cash. Globe-Trotters are also known to last forever. My grandchildren would be really lucky…
